In a national survey of knee pain patients, 100% had already tried treatment. 97% were still suffering. That is not a coincidence. It is a gap in what most treatments are actually designed to do.
He will ask about your knee, what you have already tried, and what your knee is actually keeping you from doing. Not a quick intake form. A real conversation. Most people say this alone is different from anything they have experienced before.
Dr. King evaluates how your knee moves, how it bears weight, and what may be contributing to the problem. Not just where it hurts. Why it is not getting better.
When appropriate, Dr. King uses real time ultrasound imaging to look at what is happening inside and around your knee. You can see it with him while he explains what he is looking at in plain language. Most people have never had anyone actually show them what is going on in there.
Dr. King will tell you honestly whether you are a candidate for the Non Surgical Knee Restoration Program and what he recommends for your specific situation. If he does not believe the program is right for you, he will tell you that too.
If you qualify, your plan of action begins the same day. You do not leave with a brochure and a follow up appointment scheduled for three weeks out. If Dr. King determines you are a candidate, your care starts before you walk out the door.
One on one time with Dr. King — not a staff member or assistant
A full evaluation of your knee — how it moves, how it loads, what may be contributing to the problem
Real time ultrasound imaging when appropriate — so you can see what is happening inside the joint with Dr. King explaining it in plain language
A review of your history — including what you have already tried and why it may not have been enough
A straight answer — whether you are a candidate for the Non Surgical Knee Restoration Program and exactly what Dr. King recommends for your specific situation
If you qualify, your plan begins the same day — you do not leave with a brochure and a follow up appointment three weeks out
You have been dealing with knee pain long enough that it has quietly changed how you live
You have tried things before and have not gotten the improvement or the answers you were looking for
You have been told to manage it, wait it out, or come back when it gets worse
You are not ready to accept that this is just how it is now
The time Dr. King sets aside for each assessment is real. He does not overbook. He does not rush. That means spots are limited each month and he is selective about who fills them.
If you are in the very early stages of knee pain and have not yet tried any treatment, this is probably not the right starting point. And if you are primarily looking for what insurance will cover, we are likely not the right fit. We would rather tell you that here.
But if any of this felt uncomfortably familiar, you are likely exactly who we built this for.
No. The assessment is designed to determine what may be appropriate for your specific situation. Dr. King will give you his honest recommendation at the end of your visit. You are under no obligation to begin a treatment program and nothing moves forward without your full understanding and agreement.
That is actually helpful information for Dr. King. Many people who come in have already been through the standard treatment path without getting the improvement they hoped for. Let him know what you have tried so he can take that history into account when evaluating your knee.
You can still request an assessment. Dr. King will evaluate your individual situation and determine whether he believes nonsurgical options may be appropriate for you. Some people will be candidates. Some will not. The first step is simply finding out where you stand.
The assessment and the Non Surgical Knee Restoration Program are cash pay. We work specifically with patients who are looking for solutions outside what the standard insurance system provides, because for people in your position those solutions do not exist inside it. If cost is a consideration, we encourage you to ask. There may be options available and we would rather have that conversation with you than have it be the reason you do not come in.
If you have any imaging such as X rays or MRI results, bring them. If not, do not worry. The ultrasound scan at your visit gives Dr. King real time information to work from and he can make additional imaging recommendations if needed.
He will tell you directly. We do not recommend treatment that is not appropriate for what we find. If you are not a candidate you will leave knowing that and knowing why, with a clearer picture of your situation than you had before you came in.
